I was recently given a bottle of Dasani Purified Water and it tasted good! Then I thought, it must have something in it to be somewhat tasty and not at all plain so I started googling. ;) I found out some interesting facts that I want to share with you in case you're spending a lot of money on something that is free, or you're drinking bottled water because it's the most healthy thing to do.
Bottled water is the fastest growing beverage in the U.S. and is a 10 billion dollar industry! According to Marie Clare there are 6 myths. Here is a summary of the truths:
1. Bottled water is not necessarily better for you than tap water.
2. Purified water doesn't have to taste better. If you refrigerate tap water in a container with a loose-fitting lid, the chlorine taste will be gone overnight.
3. When it comes to fluoride, tap water usually wins.
4. You don't need 8 glasses of water a day. Women need 11 (91 ounces) of fluid a day, not necessarily all water. ;)
5. After an intense workout, you need more than water. Try Gatorade!
6. We're creating a LOT of trash with all those bottles by not using our tap water.
